Dr. Amber Donati, licensed clinical psychologist

My background

I'm Dr. Amber Donati, a licensed clinical psychologist with over 14 years of experience in private practice. I work jointly with individuals and couples to deepen insight, increase personal growth, and motivate functional change.

Before arriving in private practice, I worked across a wide range of mental health treatment settings — including inpatient, outpatient, residential, community-based, and correctional environments. That breadth of experience shaped my ability to meet clients where they are, whatever they're navigating.

I conceptualize treatment through an object relations perspective. I believe that our earliest relationships create the lens through which we view and relate to ourselves and our world. These relationships lay the groundwork for how we navigate our present relationships, pursue what we want and need, and accept ourselves.

As such, I view the strength of the therapeutic relationship as foundational for effective treatment. I strive to create a felt sense of acceptance, understanding, safety, and trust with every client I work with.

My approach

I draw from multiple evidence-based modalities, tailoring my work to what each person needs most.

We explore how early relational experiences have shaped your inner world — and how those patterns show up in your life today.

What is PSYPACT?

PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows licensed psychologists to provide telepsychology services across participating states without needing a separate license in each one. As a PSYPACT-authorized provider, I can work with clients throughout Pennsylvania and across all participating states — so if you're outside PA, there's a good chance we can still work together.
